Upcoming Classical Music Concerts in Debrecen

Pianist Csaba Király in Concert at the University of Debrecen

The Faculty of Music invites classical music lovers to a special concert. The Liszt Prize-winning pianist Csaba Király will give a concert on Sunday, October 24th, at 5 p.m. in the Liszt Hall of the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen.

The audience will be able to hear a selection of the legendary composer Ferenc Liszt work’s entitled Hungarian Rhapsodies.

The show will be hosted by Liszt Prize-winning pianist Andrea Várnagy, and the opening ceremony will be greeted by Péter Lakatos, Dean of the Faculty of Music.

Admission to the concert is free.

Brahms Series – Concert I

On Tuesday, October 26th, 7:30 p.m. at the Kölcsey Center. Featuring, János Bodor who was born in 1976 in Budapest. He started playing the violin at the age of six under the influence of his uncle, Lajos Csámpai. József Huszti was his teacher at the Bence Szabolcs Music School. 

At the age of 13, he was admitted to the Preparatory Department of the Academy of Music, which teaches special talents, where he was a student of Mária Zs. Szabó. He studied in the university branch in the class of Miklós Szenthelyi. He graduated in 1999. He has participated in several international master classes and has won prizes in domestic and international violin competitions. He has been a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001, a concertmaster of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra since 2008, and the Danubia Orchestra of Óbuda since 2014. He is a founding member of the Grazioso Chamber Orchestra. From 2019 he is the concertmaster of the National Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist and a member of chamber formations, he has a number of prestigious performances in Hungary.
