A behind-the-scenes look at Debrecen airport at the end of July

The Debrecen International Airport and the Aviation Cultural Centre invite visitors on a special tour. Since January, a guided tour of airport places where access is rarely provided to the general public. The airport visits will continue until the end of July, on the 23rd, 24th, and 30th of July.

János Vajda, Managing Director of Debrecen International Airport, said that basically, visitors can go behind the scenes of the airport and can see what goes on during the servicing of such an aircraft.

After the checks, the arriving groups will be taken by bus to points of the airport to which they would otherwise have no access at all. The tour route includes the runway, several military hangars, and a training ground for firefighters.

A tour guide explains to tour participants about the markings on the runway, the arrows, the white and black lines, the landing point, and many other interesting things.

This is a great programme is for all ages, from pre-school groups, school groups, class groups, and families. The bus seats about 50 people, which is the tour limit, whether it’s a class or an individual joining the tour,” said Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, founder of the Aviation Cultural Centre, earlier in the programme.
