After the Royal Institute of British Architects, the new beach of Debrecen is now on the cover of SB Magazine.
The Aquaticum Debrecen Strand designed by BORD Architectural Studio has recently been featured on the cover of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the UK’s largest architectural magazine by circulation. In the article, the author, Isabelle Priest referred to the water park as a ‘mega fun’ place, – a place full of wild experiences.
In addition to the recognition of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the beach was ranked among the best tender plans of the recent period by the Dutch Mark Magazin.
The design team of Aquaticum Debrecen Strand also received the Green Good Design Award at the European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum International Museum in April. The new Debrecen beach has been chosen as one of the best sustainable architectural works in the world.
Now, the Aquaticum Debrecen Strand is featured on the cover of the magazine of the International Federation of Sports and Leisure Services (IAKS),
The new beach in the heart of the city opened in June 2020 and more than 161,000 people visited it in 2020. It reopened in mid-May 2021 and it expects 200,000 visitors in this season.
