OCTOBER 9th SZABÓ MAGDA PICNIC
One of the highlights of the Great Forest Week is the Szabó Magda Picnic. As part of this, the public art project begins.
In the summer of this year, the General Assembly of the City of Debrecen named the promenade crossing the Nagyerdei Park from Magda Szabó, Honorary Citizen of the City of Debrecen. The aim of the program is to display the writer’s work and literary figure with works inspired by Magda Szabó, or to refer to one of the most important stages of her life.
The first element of the visual image of the Szabó Magda promenade was undertaken by sculptor Erzsébet Szilágyi. The work shaping the doorknob of the Great Church is planned to mark it between the two gates of the park, and will be placed on the section of the promenade facing the main building of the University of Debrecen.
In addition to the installation, the teachers and students of Medgyessy design “Magda Szabó and Debrecen” themed graphics, from which a flag is made for the candelabra placed along the promenade.
The professional work is also assisted by the staff of the Museum of the Reformed College in Debrecen, as well as the accompanying texts related to the project.

NATURE RESERVE

If you love nature, are interested in flora and fauna, you are a bit of an amateur diver, you will like it. We show the difference between a snail and a mussel, that the butterfly and the butterfly are not the same, the sea urchin has nothing to do with the hedgehog sizzling in the garden, and the artichoke is not a bird.
