The Hungarian Greek Catholic Church planned to present a large exhibition in the Műcsarnok (Budapest) on the occasion of the 2020 International Eucharistic Congress. However, due to COVID-19, the event was postponed to 2021.
Now, some pieces of the exhibition can be seen in the building of the Greek Catholic Metropolitan Office in Debrecen (Debrecen, Petőfi tér 8) until the 30th of June 2021.

In what is the first in a series of concerts this Autumn, the Egmont Overture performed by pianist Gergely Bogányi and the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra is to take place on October 13th, 2020 at the Kölcsey Center, Debrecen. The concert can also be seen live, online.
Among the works of Beethoven – the IX. symphony – the Egmont Overture became more than just a composition, becoming iconic, an artistic display of the desire for freedom. The piece is part of a multi-movement accompaniment to a Goethe play, in which the poet features the famous XVI. it depicts the struggles of Count Egmont, a Dutch freedom hero who lived in the 16th century. With his drama and concentrated wording, Beethoven’s opus, presented in 1810, became a model for dramatic overtures.
The premiere of the musical can be seen on the 14th of November on the main stage of the Kölcsey Center

The only amusement park in the country celebrated its 60th anniversary in May and this weekend will be your last chance to take advantage of the highly successful Wristband Weekend on October 10th and 11th this year. During this year guests displaying wristband tickets will be able to use all of the institution’s slot machines unrestricted throughout the day, from 10 am to 5pm.

The Goethe-Institut Budapest, the Austrian Cultural Forum – Österreichisches Kulturforum Budapest, the Swiss Embassy, and the Deutsches Kulturforum Debrecen will bring the best of new German-language films in their original language with Hungarian subtitles.
The films will be screened at the Apollo Cinema once again. Admission is free, but registration is required. Register online or in-person at the ticket office of the Apollo cinema.
The exhibition organized by the Imre Kertész Institute focuses on the author’s student years, on the experiences that also determine the later direction and choice of topics of his creative career.

The exhibition not only aims to draw attention to the hidden layers of the oeuvre but, true to the chosen title, accompanies the stages of this early period of life with truly hitherto unknown photographs and mostly unpublished details. The exhibition, which runs until October 30th, also evokes a memory of the writer’s former papal visit.

The Cranes visit on their way from their northern breeding grounds, staying in large numbers within the Hortobágy National Park, a place of safety and food in abundance.
From the beginning of September, an increasing number of cranes visit the area. Such is their impact, that the Crane has become synonymous with Hortobágy, and is even on the coat of arms of the national park.
