Kicking off the summer series of free outdoor music events entitled “Quiet Thursdays, with acoustic sets taking place in the Water Tower Garden. Start the weekend early and unwind on Thursdays.

In what is the biggest cultural event in the country, the Night of the Museums will be organized on the 25th of June. On the occasion, around 431 institutions are expecting visitors this evening with more than 2500 programs – announced Péter Hoppál, Secretary of State for Culture at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, at the briefing held today in the Hungarian Music House.

On Wednesday, 22nd June 2022 at 8 p.m. Texas Tourist will play at STAY Beer Bar in Debrecen.

One of the region’s most prestigious international music events, the first Zoltán Kodály International Music Competition, will kick off on Friday 17th June, with 38 competitors from 19 nations competing in front of a jury and audience.

The first Zoltán Kodály Zoltán International Music Competition has attracted a record number of international entries, with a record number of foreign participants. The event will take place in Debrecen from 17th-26th June, with all rounds free of charge. The international jury will be chaired by a living legend of the Hungarian violin school, Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, which garners its members, from the world’s most prestigious educational institutions.

Between the 17th of June and the 7th of July 2022 the exhibition GYÖRGY BOGDÁNDY 90 can be seen on display in Debrecen’s Kölcsey Centre. Bogdándy Györy is a well-known local painter with roots in Debrecen.

For the 6th time, the Debrecziner Gourmet Festival is waiting for its visitors in the green heart of Debrecen, this time from 1-3 July.

This year again, the Stylistic Rural Restaurant Association (SVÉT) is the main partner of the festival, which is a good indication of the prestige of the festival, as SVÉT is the association and voice of the high-quality rural gastronomy. In addition to restaurants, this association also includes restaurant-hotel complexes, confectioners, artisan breweries, and bakeries.

This weekend, on the 11th and 12th of June, between the Zoo and the amusement park, the Queen of Flowers will once again take centre stage at the Rose Festival for the 3rd year running. Learn about the varieties of roses available in Hungary, admire and buy from a selection of more than 30 varieties of roses, mostly bush and tea roses, available at the exhibition.

A choir concert will be held on Saturday 11th June at 7.15 p.m. in the St. Anne’s Cathedral in Debrecen. The concert will feature the American choir Citrus Singers (Glendora, California, USA), conducted by Douglas Austin and Marius Beltran.

The Zerophobia concert series continues with the symphonic concert “2022: ZENÉS ŰRODÜSSZEIA”, featuring students from Hungary and abroad.

The Csokonai Theatre welcomes foreign guests to the Nagyerdei Open-Air Games. On 8th June, the first performance of the series, the musical show Nikola Tesla – Infinite Energy, will be performed with English subtitles. The production, which starts at 8:30 p.m, uses state-of-the-art show technology to create a unique visual experience while providing an exciting musical and visual backdrop to Tesla’s life and the atmosphere of the nineteenth century.

Lake Tisza is the largest artificial lake in Hungary, it’s gone wild over the years, and now has a rich ecosystem, famous for its birdlife, and a wide variety of fun activities to enjoy.
