Finally, the country’s biggest retro show, the deservedly popular Total Dance Festival, is coming to Debrecen! On Saturday, 11 June, the biggest hits of the ’90s and 2000s like Love Doctor, Sad Samurai, and Moonlight Shadow will be performed live. The event production, which has been an unbroken success since 2014, will bring the biggest global stars of the era to the stage of the Phoenix Arena.

At this concert by the Lyra Symphony Orchestra of Debrecen will be able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Nagyerdei Park, it is not every day that you can hear masterpieces by Haydn, Beethoven, Bizet, Sarasate, and Poldini played at the lakeside stage. This time, however, the audience will be able to witness how classical music will fill the Nagyerdei Park on Saturday evening. The title of the concert is in keeping with this atmosphere and is entitled Szabadban, which literally means “in the open“. The evening will feature violinist Zoltán Herczegfalvi and conductor József Balogh.

The event taking place on the 4th of June aims to present traditional goulash making as a tradition of the Hungarian Shepherds, who still keep the grey cattle in their herds, and make the traditional dishes of their craft. Shepherds and goulash makers from all over the country and those representing the next generation of Shepherds will compete against each other to demonstrate their skills.

In May, the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra will delight classical music lovers with great concerts, again featuring works by popular composers.
In the second half of May, the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra will treat classical music lovers to great concerts, featuring works by popular composers. The final two concerts will feature works by Miklós Rózsa, one of the greatest Hungarian composers of the 20th century, as recognised by both music history and film history.
