The Nature Museum hosts the Botanica Historica exhibition at the Déri Museum from 29th September to 11th November as part of the Autumn Festival of Museums. The exhibition features ninety works by nine large plant drawers. On 8th November attendance is free.
The exhibition presents plant drawings made from the 1600s to the 1930s, and in addition to the pictures, you can also read a short biography of the creators. The significance of the drawings is also enormous because in that age, although a camera did not yet exist, large natural history books were all the rage, in which plants come to life as beautiful works. In addition, the representations can still be used to enrich botanical knowledge.
On this thematic day, visitors can listen to a presentation of the head of the Natural History, Zoltán Váradi, and take part in a related museum pedagogical session.
The use of a mouth mask is mandatory in the entire area of the Déri Museum!
