								A 101-room hotel is being built in the centre of Debrecen, the first Hilton hotel in rural Hungary.
A double celebration was held at the 101-room hotel in Darabos Street, Debrecen. In keeping with tradition, the project participants celebrated the construction of the building reaching its highest point with a bush-topping ceremony. It was also announced that the new hotel on Darabos Street will be called Hilton Garden Inn Debrecen City Center.

								Everyone can visit the Zoo with a registration ticket of 300 HUF per person between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and in exchange for the symbolic ticket price, we only ask you to bring material donations (sweets, children’s books, hygiene products) according to your available options. The donations will be received and distributed to the needy by the Debrecen Charity Board.
The Zoo Debrecen they are used to caring for 900 animals of 200 species, – throughout the year, now they wanted to extend this care to as many people as possible for Advent and the Christmas season, to make our recreational, experiential, and educational opportunities available. The Zoo Debrecen has announced that we will be holding a donation drive day, “DonationoZOO Day” on 26th November this year, to build on their giving tradition.

On Saturday, November 26th, the first weekend of Advent, festivities begin in Debrecen. The skating rink on Kossuth tér and the Christmas market will be open, there will be an Advent playhouse, concerts, and of course, the festive lights will be turned on!

On the evening of November 18th, 2022, the world-famous African-American Baptist monk Dwight Robson and his selected soloists are waiting for everyone to enjoy unadulterated joyous music in the Great Reformed Church.
During the one-and-a-half-hour-long concert, we can tune in to the Advent season with well-known songs such as “Hallelujah” and “Oh, Happy Day”, but we also have the opportunity to celebrate with other, popular and less well-known, but certainly beautiful, spiritually relevant tunes.

								In Debrecen Advent begins on 26th November, with a month of festive fun in several locations around the city.
Advent in Debrecen will open its doors on 26th November at 9:00 a.m. and will be open for 4 weeks until 23rd December at 8:00 p.m. During this period, visitors can enjoy a fair, gastronomy, open-air concerts, family and children’s activities, and an ice rink.
The downtown fairgrounds will feature both modern and traditional products: carpets, weavings, handmade ceramics, wooden toys, gingerbread, herbs, teas, scones, and sumptuous Christmas decorations. More than 90 Christmas-themed stalls will offer a wide range of products, including a selection of special culinary delicacies.

								The opening ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Debrecen László Papp, who said that the former downtown shops are now increasingly being replaced by gastronomy, which is good for Debrecen.
The company’s latest branded store opened in an impressive 127-year-old building on Piac Street.
The elegant 300-square-meter store also has a confectionery and ice cream parlor. Péter Csóll, managing director, emphasized that the exclusive brand store offers chocolate and handcrafted sweets and snacks in addition to pastries and confectionery products.

								The main square ice rink is already under construction, with around 800 square meters of skating rink in front of the church.
In three weeks’ time, the skating rink on Kossuth Square will open at the same time as the Christmas market on the 26th November.

Last season, nearly 10,000 school children and 16,500 individual visitors came to the ice rink, with most of the city’s schools bringing their pupils. There were also a number of organized programs at the rink, with more than three thousand people taking part.

								Now they have unveiled the first Michelin Guide publication covering the whole of Hungary, featuring both new culinary and green Michelin-starred restaurants and gems waiting to be discovered by the gourmets.
The restaurants included in the 2022 edition of the Michelin Guide for Hungary have been announced. The IKON Restaurant in Debrecen is one of them.

								Running times will be extended between the capital and Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Miskolc, Eger, and Lake Balaton.
According to the communication, new Cívis InterRégió trains will run hourly between Nyugati station and Debrecen (line 100), using modern FLIRT motor trains.
Long-distance traffic is increasing and there is a growing demand for trains to the big cities and to homes in the countryside as well as between cities, and at a later time than the usual last trains around 6-7 pm.

								The festival organized in honor of Zoltán Kocsis’ 70th birthday will end in Debrecen between November 21st and 23rd.
The Kocsis-Hauser Foundation organised the Zoltán Kocsis Memorial Festival in honour of the artist’s 70th birthday in three locations, Tiszadob, Mátészalka, and Debrecen, the latter being the final event of the festival. In Debrecen, the commemorative festival includes four programmes: three concerts and a masterclass in honour of Zoltán Kocsis.

								The 70th anniversary of the founding of the opera company will be celebrated with a grand gala concert on 17th November 2022, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Latinovits Zoltán Hall of the Csokonai Forum.
Seventy years ago, on the 17th November, was the birthday of Mihály Csokonai Vitéz, on this day the opera company of the Csokonai Theatre was founded. This led to the creation of a highly successful enterprise that to this day plays a prominent role not only in the operatic history of the city of Debrecen but also in the country.
