From 5th September, Aeroexpress Regional will operate three times a week for two months to several Romanian cities, connecting Budapest with Cluj-Napoca and Debrecen with Târgu Mureș (Marosvásárhely) and Cluj-Napoca. On September 25th, 2022, the Wizz Air Debrecen Airport Run will be held for the fifth time in a special location, jointly organized by Debrecen International Airport Kft. and the Sportcentrum.

From 5th to 7th September we will be part of the 9th edition of the Scandinavian Film Festival! The festival will screen the best Nordic films over three days at the Apollo Movie Theatre. The programme will be dominated by premiere screenings, but will also include some long-overlooked Nordic film gems.

The MODEM is delighted to announce that the Alter ego exhibition has been extended by two weeks, allowing visitors to see the neo-avant-garde masterpieces of László Lakner until 25th September.

László Lakner is one of the most important artists of the Hungarian neo-avant-garde: his art is characterised by thematic and stylistic diversity and constant experimentation. Within his oeuvre, radically different stylistic tendencies can coexist, but they are not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary. Some of Lakner’s work can be linked to surrealism, pop art, photorealism, conceptualism, informal painting with a scriptural character, and then a post-conceptual approach to painting – loosely geometric, often letter and text-based – becomes increasingly pronounced in his oeuvre.

On the last Friday of August, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the Zoo Debrecen will be holding their 11th edition of the main event of the season, Zoo Night, – once again putting the animals in the spotlight. This year’s theme will focus on the rich natural and cultural world of Africa, with a unique summer night programme.

The U18 3×3 World Championship will started on Tuesday 23rd August at Kossuth Square in Debrecen, both mens and womens matches have begun. Not for 22 years in Hungary, and 157 years in Debrecen, has an institution been built specifically to serve as a home for theatre. The 9,000-square-metre facility has three multifunctional, accessible theatre spaces: the Zoltán Latinovits Hall can seat 350 people, the Árpád Kóti Hall 150 people, and the Asymmetry Restaurant has also been designed to host theatre productions.
