Lufthansa plans to restart the Debrecen-Munich flight

Before COVID-19, the flight between Debrecen and Munich operated five times a week; Lufthansa plans to resume this from the end of March 2022 if the COVID-19 situation allows. The flight is already available for booking in the German airline’s reservation system.

How the Great Forest Became an Institutional Park

Today, Nagyerdő (Great forest) is a place for quiet reflection and recreation, but until the end of the 18th century, it was rarely visited. After two destructive fires, the boundaries of the city were extended, plots outside of the city were drawn into the interior and the forest became popular over time.

National Geographic survey – Hungarian Cities

The National Geographic conducted a representative survey of 18-65-year-olds, to determine the Hungarians’ habits in terms of visiting cities and, of course, what their favorite Hungarian cities are.

The National Geographic conducted a representative survey of 18-65-year-olds entitled “Direction of the City!”, to determine the habits of Hungarians’ in relation to visiting cities and, of course, what their favorite Hungarian cities are.

Based on spontaneous responses, a third of the population stated they prefer Budapest the most. After the capital, Eger was the second most popular city, followed by Pécs, Debrecen, and Szeged which were all tied for third place.

The Natural Wonder of Hortobágy – Cranes Take Flight.

Crane migration is one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles of the natural world with 10,000+ cranes taking flight at dusk in Hortobágy.

The role of the crane in Hungarian culture is a charismatic one, especially with respect to the conservation of nature. This cultural role differentiates these birds from other domestic bird species. Such is their impact, that the Crane has become synonymous with Hortobágy, and is even on the coat of arms of the national park.

The Kodály Philharmonic and the Kodály Choir will bring the best of classical music literature to lovers of classical music this October in Debrecen. Their forthcoming concerts will feature Brahms ’works, the German Requiem, and the Violin Concerto in D major, and HWV’s 68th piece featuring Händel Theodora, in early November. The concerts will once again be hosted by the Kölcsey Center.

The inauguration of the Mercure hotel was held in Debrecen. The HUF 8.2 billion investment of the four-star, 155-room business hotel was supported by the Hungarian government with more than HUF 3.4 billion through the Kisfaludy program..
