The Pentezug in Hortobágy is one of the last wilderness in Hungary, an untouched and unique habitat, home to rare plants, birds, and endangered wild horses. Attila Korbely and Kata Ozogány followed the inhabitants of Pentezug for four seasons and captured rare events, unique moments of the wild world of Przewalski’s horses.

The Debrecen Folk Ensemble will perform a spectacular dance theater premiere for the 2021 Nagyerdei Outdoor Games on September 9th. The dance extravaganza is a stage adaptation of Albert Wass’s highly successful 1959 novel “A funtineli boszorkány” (The Witch of Funtinel) bringing the magic of the book to life on stage.

There are many adventures in the country’s only theme park in the fall, which is open, not only on weekends in September but on all weekdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the exception of Monday (closed).

What’s more, the general public won’t be left without the limitless experiences provided during the summer, as the Park is now hosting its highly successful Armband Weekend again this weekend, September 11th and 12th. As part of the promotion, guests exchanging armband tickets will be able to use all of the institution’s slot machines indefinitely throughout the day.
The armband tickets, which provide unlimited use of gaming machines, can be redeemed at the same price as last year, ie HUF 3,900 for children and only HUF 3,500 for adults at the institution’s ticket offices, either during the event or by providing convenient and accelerated access by pre-ordering online.
Debrecen’s gastro festival season continues with the ZAMAT Festival from 17th to 19th September. The venue is much larger than before, and the event has much more to offer with an international outlook, star performers, and culinary experiences.

Researchers’ Night at the University of Debrecen is back, after last years cancellation due to the pandemic, here’s what you can expect.
In 2007, the University of Debrecen joined for the first time the researchers’ night initiative, launched in 2005 to promote science in a direct, informal, and comprehensible form. With the exception of last year (COVID Pandemic) the University of Debrecen has participated every year since 2007

On 24th August, began the FIBA Under 18’s World Cup, taking place up until Sunday 29th August. Each day of play is filled with non-stop action over 7 hours of play, streamed live in the English language on Facebook. Today was the opening of both the women’s and men’s competitions with 16 games in total, each match taking just 10 minutes, so no breaks are required.

On the last Wednesday evening program of the summer, those interested can not only try out the unique interactive games of the experience center, but also watch special short films in the planetarium and, with good weather, look at the sky with binoculars after sunset from 9:30 p.m.
What is a fire tornado? How can we paint fire green? Can we set a shawl on fire without harm? These questions are also answered in Agora’s special experimental demonstration.
